Old Business:

Wichita Region received a check from AVRG. The minutes which were supposed to be posted on the Wichita Region website have not yet been posted, so a call to the webmaster will be on Guy’s list of “things to do.”

Stephanie Meyer has expressed interest in possibly being a part-time secretary, and Robert Phillips has expressed a possible interest in doing the Wail. Hopefully the next month will bring good news on both counts.

Reports:

Solo –Guy has spoken with a member of the Glider Club who says they would prefer that we not use one of the runways any longer. They feel it could be dangerous to both clubs. This may mean we will need to change the direction of the runs. It will also require a different entrance to the Yoder site. This will be published on the website and an email blast will be sent to those who have already registered.

The battery for the Solo timing laptop no longer works. A new laptop has been donated to us, but we found it necessary to upgrade the software.

Rally –Will probably do a poker rally in August which will coincide with the membership meeting. The meeting time will probably need to move to 8:00 that month.

Rallycross –Nothing new

Blacktop Nationals update – Nothing new

AVRG –The next event is July 2/3. The upcoming July race will include a closed wheel driver’s school along with the regional and national races and the IT tour.

Street Survivor – Mike Lauer attended the KC Street Survivor School in April and gave a report. It requires a lot of people to organize and run an event like this. KC had 28 drivers attend. Mike said the best idea was to get one on the schedule and get the first one done as soon as possible. Hopefully we will find a site very soon. One idea was to contact a company in town and offer to hold the school for their employee’s families.

Membership – We currently have 222 members.

Treasurer – Brian Meyer presented the Treasurer’s Report. Charlene moved to approve the Treasurer’s report as presented, seconded by Kyle. Motion passed unanimously.

The following activities are upcoming: May 25 – Solo #4 at Yoder; May 25 – Membership Meeting; June 5 – Solo #5 at Yoder; June 4-5 – R/N/IT Tour at MAM; June 8 – BOD meeting at Brooklyn’s; June 19 – Solo #6 at Yoder; June 22 – Membership meeting at Brooklyn’s.

Motion to adjourn was made by Sherry, seconded by Charlene. Motion passed unanimously. Meeting adjourned at 8:37 p.m.
