Some comments sent in to me, and also taken from
comments posted one the KAKE.com website. |

I personally talked with Justin at a previous event, and
really enjoyed the conversation. He was a bright young man, and I
really got a sense that he was caring and level-headed. |
| I used to hang out with Justin last school
year, like during the JROTC Lock-in and when we were training for the
Raider Challenge. He was the best PT partner I ever had and it was fun
playing on his Xbox 360 with him. I regret not hanging out with him at
all this school year, unfortunately it's too late now. God bless you
Justin and your family, Semper Fi. |
| Justin was in my calculus class and always
helped people. Smartest guy i ever knew. I pray for him and his family.
May peace be upon you. |
| I remember being in Justin's jrotc class i
still remember that smile he always had. |
| I can only give condolences to the Girds.
Dave, I hope you can find strength in this time of trial - I work with
you and I feel I know you and your perspective in life.. Please know
that my family is praying for you for strength and wisdom to surround
you with all that He has and is. May the God of peace truly be the
created being of true comfort for you and your wife. Jesus loves
you.....Jesus loved you. From the cradle to cradle and dust to dust, but
someday that cradle will roll over the grave, but ah what would you do
with your last breath of freedom, for death seldom sleeps long at all
these days. God Bless you and yours. A Friend. |
| I loved him like a brother, he was one of
the best friends I'll ever have the honor of having. I'll miss him for
the rest of my life. |
| Never will I forget the times I got to hang
out with you, Justin. You were defiantly one of the best people to know
and be around, and to be close friends with. School wont be the same
with out you. You will be greatly missed. |
| Justin sat two seats away from me in the
last class of the day, english, and I sat at a table by myself. Everyday
he would help me by putting the empty chair next to me on the table when
the bell would ring...that is a memory i will always cherish of Justin.
He was one of the sweetest guys in the senior class and I will be
praying for his family!! God bless. |
| My prayers go out to all NEM students,
faculty, staff, and especially to the Gird family. I only recently met
Justin at the musical, in which he did an amazing job, and in that brief
moment I learned what a light he was to his fellow cast members. Justin
lit up every thing he touched in that show, and everyone around him was
greater because he was there. I encourage all of you that knew him
intimately to remember the great times you had with him, and celebrate
the life he had. To the Gird family, God is with you, and he will guide
you through this rough time. And to my the NEM students....my heart, my
prayers, will be for you. Have hope everyone, and rest in peace Justin. |
| Justin was always there for anyone. I had
the privilege to know him and work with him in many projects. He will be
missed a lot, it's hard to find people like Him. He was Great! |
| Justin was a true light in the eyes of many.
He will be greatly missed and always cherished as a truly honorable
young man. Love and prayers to all who loved him. |
| My daughter, Kaitlyn is a student at NE
Magnet and involved in MCJROTC with Justin. Her loss and confusion are
so tremendous as she has nothing but great things to say of Justin and
the night they just recently spent together with a group of cadets at
the marine Corps Ball. I know there is a large group of great kids from
NE that will miss Justin and stand ready to show their respects to him
and his family. Our thoughts and Prayers are with his family at this
time. |
| I had calculus
with Justin and sat one seat away from him. He would always help someone
out and when it was me, he had to always throw in a joke of how I was
not getting the math. The whole class went silent when we were told of
the sad news. He was one of the smartest guy I have ever met and will be
deeply missed, Rest in Peace "Wonderbread", you will be missed |
| Words alone cannot express how much I, and
all of our friends, will miss you Justin. You were one of the brightest
people I have met and you were one of the most fun to hang out with. I
will keep remembering all the good times me and Justin shared together.
Rest in peace Gird, you will be missed greatly. |
| He was a good student and always nice to
anybody he met, I can't think of a time when he wasn't smiling. God
Bless |
| My husband Andy and I are friend's of
Justin's parents. Our hearts and prayers go out to the family and
friends of the Girds. May God Be With You All. |
| I went to school with Justin. He was a great
student, a role model and a good friend. He will indeed be missed. My
condolences are to Justin's family and friends. My God be with you. |
| Our prayers are with the Gird family during
this difficult time. My son was a close friend of Justin's. The news was
devastating to those friends of Justin's. He was a great kid, and will
always live within the memories that they carry of him and their
friendships together. |
| Justin was an amazing young man. He had
applied for a position at the Air Force Academy and had recently
interviewed with Kansas congressional staff in hopes of receiving an
appointment. We are all heart broken and appreciate your prayers. |
| My daughter went to school with and knew
Justin. To his family you are in our prayers and my God be with you all. |
